A tiny, slim warbler with an ash-grey head, rufous-brown back and a long tail held cocked and flicked. Restless and loud for its size.

Small insects and spiders, gleaned from the stems and leaves of low growth.

In the scrub, tall grass and garden edges, working low through the cover with a sharp, repeated call and a buzzing wing-snap.
