How to know it
A tiny green leaf-warbler with a striped crown — a dark-bordered grey-green centre — a yellow eye-ring and two faint wing-bars. Restless in the foliage.
What it eats
Small insects and spiders, gleaned busily from leaves and twigs.
Where & when to spot it
High and low through the leafy trees and undergrowth, rarely still, often in mixed flocks; commonest in the wooded country around Ranikhet.
Nesting & mating
A domed nest low in a bank or bush; three to five eggs in spring and the monsoon.
