Birds of Rishikesh

Rishikesh · Garhwal, Uttarakhand · ≈ 362 km from Kunja

All birdwatching

Rishikesh sits where the Ganga rushes out of a forested foothill gorge, and the fast water and wooded ridges around it are excellent for river birds — plumbeous and white-capped redstarts bobbing on the rocks, forktails along the side-streams, and in winter the chance of a wallcreeper on the cliffs. The forest is continuous with Rajaji. Our own photographs from here are on the way.

The prizes here

We've birded here ourselves — our photographs are on the way. In the meantime, these are the species worth coming for.
